Bullhead sharks are the sharks most likely to attack humans. They inhabit shallow salty waters, but they can also survive in fresh water, as evidenced by the fact that the bullhead shark was found in Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America. It can also be found in rivers such as the Ganges, Amazon and Mississippi.
The bullhead shark owes its name to... its appearance. For the same reason, it is called bull shark in English. It reaches just over 2 meters in length and weighs about 100 kg (females are slightly larger), although an individual weighing more than 300 kg was once caught. Its characteristic feature is the enormous strength of its jaws. the largest among cartilaginous fish.
We cannot meet bullhead sharks in Polish waters (they are too cold), so the only chance to meet them is to visit Park Wieloryba in Rewal!
