The macro shark is characterized by a long body with a strongly elongated, pointed head, hence its other name: mako shark. The average male is believed to be approximately 3.2 m tall and weigh 60-135 kg (females are slightly larger). Quite recently, however, a macrofish weighing over 600 kg was caught in California. However, the records among sharp-nosed sharks are held by specimens from the Mediterranean Sea - an individual caught in France in 1973 measured almost 4.5 m, and at the end of the 19th century in Italy a specimen weighing one ton was reportedly caught.
He is considered the fastest swimmer among sharks. It reaches speeds of up to 50 km/h, although there are also scientists who believe that it is able to swim at speeds of up to 100 km/h, although such a fact has never been recorded. The mako shark can also jump up to 9 meters in the air. These facts arouse admiration and horror.
Attacks on people are individual. Macro attacks humans only when they are irritated, which is why most of the attacks on humans recorded in the last two decades have been cases involving fishermen.
